Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in 150 Mile House, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a two-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) is soliciting proposals for the Design Build of a new, emergency efficient Fire Hall for the 150 Mile VFD in 150 Mile House. BC. The proposed building must meet current building coeds and NFPA 1585 Standards (attached). The lower floor of the building should contain the following: 4 Apparatus Truck Bays - 2 @ 47.5’ minimum depth x 24’ wide and 2 @ 39.5’ minimum depth x 24’ wide with 14 high x 16’ Wide Overhead doors for each bay Chief’s Office Officer’s office (for 6 workspaces) Radio Room Storage Room Workshop Cylinder Fill (large enough for Compressor, Fill Station and Cascade System), Storage and be wired for compressor electrical connection Turn Out Gear Room (must be separated from the truck bays) Laundry Room (to accommodate washer, dryer, sink) Men’s and Women’s Washrooms (each w/2 shower stalls (1 shower stall large enough to accommodate a wheelchair, WC (wheelchair accessible and Sink/Vanity) Reception Area Janitor Room Mechanical, IT (with temperature control system) and Storage Rooms The upper floor of the building should contain the following: Workout Room (area must be large enough to contain the following gym equipment:) and a small vanity / sink Closed Storage Room Open Storage Area Training Room (approximately 550 sq ft) Access to the upper floor must be from both the interior (from the truck bays and from the office / washroom areas) and the exterior. Any rooms that are directly adjacent to the apparatus bays must be closed off to prevent the infiltration of exhaust gases The building must contain: HVAC System that complies with WorkSafe BC air quality and vehicle exhaust regulations Heating can be forced air, radiant or heated concrete floor (preferrable for the truck bays at a minimum). Natural Gas is available. 3 Phase Power with electrical connection for a back up generator, or, alternatively a solar/battery powered back up electrical system Lighting shall be LED (fluorescent or Incandescent shall not be used) Concrete Aprons extending 40’ from each apparatus bay New Septic system The building should be designed to fit within the space identified in the attached arial photo so that the existing fire hall remains operational during construction and commissioning. Demolition of the existing structures, ensuring zoning compliance and obtaining the required Development Permit will be the responsibility of the Cariboo Regional District. The successful proponent will be responsible for obtaining all other required permits. The proposal should include an approximate schedule of construction.
