JE Dunn Construction is soliciting cost proposals for the TDCJ Expansion Dorms projects. JE Dunn has been awarded six expansion dorms (also known as units) located at separate facilities across Texas as noted below. The dorms are an expansion to the active correctional facilities to increase their living quarters. The projects consist of a 42,000 sf pre-engineered metal building with 10,480 sf of mezzanines per unit. Bidders may propose one or more dorms based on their capacity; however, the projects are expected to proceed concurrently, with individual unit starts anticipated to be staggered by approximately two weeks. Any bidder awarded multiple units will be required to execute each unit concurrently. Bidders should assume separate, fully staffed crews for each location to meet the concurrent schedule requirements. If interested in being awarded multiple units, please provide a separate deduct for any applicable efficiencies associated with a multi-unit award.
