Every question or request for interpretation concerning the solicitation shall be directed to the Purchasing Agent, Christina Bodin-Turner, in writing via e-mail at cbodinturner@huntsvilletx.gov or sent via mail addressed to the Purchasing Department at City Hall, 1212 Avenue M, Huntsville, Texas 77340. All questions or request for interpretation must be received by May 8, 2025 @ 5:00 P.M. as addressed above. All questions or requests for interpretation concerning the solicitation received after May 8, 2025 @ 5:00 P.M. will be considered void and unacceptable. Scope of Services The City is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to establish an annual purchase order for ongoing, twice weekly, hauling services for its recyclable materials, approximately 20 tons per week, collected by the City of Huntsville from residential homes and commercial facilities throughout the City and the recycle drop-off center. It is the City's intent to contract with one (1) responder to provide the complete and comprehensive hauling services for the City's recyclable materials. The City reserves the right to award this contract in a manner deemed to be in the City's best interest. Should the awarded responder not respond within a mutually agreed time, the City reserves the right to go to the next best responder and continue until a responsive bidder can be found. The following are considered recycled materials and may be included in the materials to be hauled by the awarded bidder: _ Aerosol containers: Includes aerosol cans and spray cans, dispensers that hold substances under pressure. _ Cardboard: Corrugated cardboard and paperboard packaging; may also be referenced as "OCC" (old corrugated cardboard). _ Commingled recyclables: Two or more types of recyclable materials collected together, unsorted. _ Fiber: Paper and pulp-derived materials, including cardboard, mixed paper and newspaper. _ Metal Cans: Aluminum, steel, tin and bi-metal used cans. Labels need not be removed. May include used, clean aluminum foil and pie pans. _ Mixed paper: A mixture of various qualities and grades of paper. Includes: magazines, catalogs, computer paper, copier paper, junk mail, envelopes (may include window envelopes), colored paper, wrapping paper, shredded paper, file folders, carbonless paper, paper bags, packaging paper, telephone books, reading books (hard or soft cover). _ Newspaper: Old newspapers, including paper inserts delivered with the newspaper. _ Plastic containers/items: Plastic bottles, jugs and wide-mouth containers commonly used for packaging consumer food, beverage, detergent and other products. Labels need not be removed. Plastic cups and eating utensils, plastic trays, rigid plastics, aseptic packaging and ferrous and bi metal containers.
