Site work and new construction of a multi-residential development in Vancouver, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a six-story above grade, 100-unit multi-residential development; for site work for a multi-residential development; and six-story above grade, 60-unit multi-residential development.
The proposed development consists of two six-storey, wood-frame buildings, totaling 160 units. One building, funded through the Community Housing Fund (CHF), will contain 100 units, while the other, funded through the Supportive Housing Fund (SHF), will provide 60 units. The supportive housing building will primarily offer studio units along with service areas that support the operational program. These include a common lounge, commercial kitchen, reception area, safety check vestibule at the entry, medication and clinic rooms, offices, and other essential spaces. Each unit will feature a full bathroom and a kitchenette equipped with a sink and refrigerator, with provisions for a future cooktop installation. The final unit mix will be determined in collaboration with BC Housing and the Prime Consultant/Architect. The building will provide long-term purpose-built housing. It will be designed in compliance with BC Housing Design Guidelines and Construction Standards, and zoning and design guidelines required by the City, as well as Interior Health Authorities requirements and guidance, and Operator's program requirements. Currently, the site is vacant and heavily treed. The affordable housing building will offer a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom units. There will be extensive indoor bicycle parking and a common amenity space for tenants.
