Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Deltona, Florida. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Volusia County is seeking the services of a State of Florida Certified General or Building Contractor to provide and pay for building permit and construct the wooden boardwalk assembly complete (structure of beams/ joist/ wood posts/ footings, decking, guardrails and handrails), concrete sidewalks and pervious concrete sidewalks and expansion joint covers. The construction includes, but is not limited to: A. Pruning and protection of oak tree with trunk within one foot of the proposed boardwalk by a Florida Licensed Arborist. B. Protection of existing trees. C.Pervious concrete walks and precast curbs w/ expansion joint cover D. Carpentry E. Finish clearing at areas of excavation and paving. F. Earthwork for sidewalks and finish grade of existing rough graded berms. G. Grass seed areas disturbed by construction. H. Add Alternate for Landscape and Drip Irrigation (connect to existing line). Lyonia Preserve which borders the Deltona Library property is a joint project of Volusia County, the Volusia County School Boards and the State of Florida to provide environmental education to the public and restore and maintain habitat for scrub-dependent species, including threatened scrub jay and gopher tortoise. The preserve, named after the scrub plant rusty lyonia, consists of 360 acres of restored Florida scrub habitat. Volusia County intends to construct an elevated ADA accessible pedestrian boardwalk bridging the Deltona Library at Amphitheater sidewalk on the east to the trailhead pavilion of the Lyonia Preserve to the west over a total grade change of approximately 8 feet. The construction does NOT occur within the preserve. However, gopher tortoises have been discovered within the construction area which the County will be relocating prior to construction mobilization. Question Deadline 05/15/2025 at 11:59 PM ET Questions and exceptions concerning any Section of this ITB shall be directed through the question and answer functionality of the County's eProcurement Portal. Bid Bond Forfeited - Liquidated Damages Failure of the bidder to execute a Contract and record the required bonds as provided herein within ten (10) days after a written notice of award has been given shall be just cause for the annulment of the award and the forfeiture of the Bid security to the County, which forfeiture shall be considered not as a penalty, but in liquidation of damages sustained. Award may then be made to the next lowest responsive and responsible bidder or all Bids may be rejected. Bids which contain modifications, incomplete, unbalanced, conditional, obscure, or which contain additions not requested, or irregularities of any kind, or which do not comply in every respect with the instructions to bidders and the Contract documents may be rejected at the option of the County. The County does not bind itself to accept the minimum Bid stated herein, but reserves the right to accept any Bid, the County deems to be the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and which in the judgment of the County will best serve the needs and interests of the County.
