Renovation of a medical facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project entails the replacement of medical equipment with upgraded equipment in existing operating rooms. The project is located in operating rooms 18, 20, and 21 on the second floor of the Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, UC San Diego Health Medical Center, La Jolla - 9434 Medical Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92037. This is an equipment "replacement in-kind" project, with additional modifications to existing architecture and infrastructure only as necessary for the installation of the new equipment. The work consists of replacement of existing equipment, with modifications to existing architecture and infrastructure only as required for installation of the new equipment in the operating rooms. The scope includes replacing anesthesia and Ceiling-hung booms (equipment, lighting, and anesthesia/profusion) and the audiovisual integration system will be upgraded with new Stryker booms. . ACD 0001 work includes extending CO2 piping from Thornton into the SCVC interstitial space above ORs 18, 19, 20, and 21, terminating at the ceiling-hung booms. ACD 0002 work involves upsizing electrical panelboards serving ORs 18, 20, and 21 from 70A, 42-circuit to 100A, 60-circuit capacity, and adding conduit pathways for electrical and low-voltage cabling to each OR to support the upgraded DaVinci equipment. Estimated project duration is 365 calendar days. Pre-registration is required to attend the Pre-Bid Conference/Job Walk due to the sensitive nature of the project area, along with required security and PPE protocols. Attendance will be limited. Priority will be given to the four prequalified general contractor bidders, with a maximum of three representatives allowed per firm. The total number of additional attendees, including subcontractors, will be capped at 20 participants. Bid Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Lump Sum Base Bid, excluding alternates, shall accompany each Bid. The Surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be, on the Bid Deadline, listed in the latest published State of California, Department of Insurance, list of Insurers Admitted to Transact Surety Insurance in This State. The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: License B - General Building Contractor
