Site work for a mixed-use development in Mobile, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and water / sewer project.
ASPA Logistics Park Civil Infrastructure Improvements The work consists principally of providing bonds, labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for the construction related to the redirection of specified City of Mobile Drainage and the Mobile ICTF Entrance Relocation as indicated in the Contract Drawings and Specifications. The Alabama State Port Authority will utilize its sales tax exemption status on this project. Attendance to the Bid Opening is Not Mandatory. All Contractors submitting bids are to carefully examine the site of the proposed work and thoroughly review the contract requirements prior to submission of a bid proposal. Each Bidder shall satisfy oneself as to the character, quality, and quantities of work to be performed, and as to the requirements of the proposed Contract. The submission of a proposal shall be proof that the bidding Contractor has made such examination and is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered in performing the work and as to the requirements of the proposed Contract. Electing to not visit the site before bidding will not relieve the prospective bidders from the stated requirements to "satisfy oneself as to the character, quality, and quantities of work to be performed, and as to the requirements of the proposed contract". All bidding Contractors must hold a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama with a classification being HS - Highways & Streets or H/RR - Heavy/Railroad. A Guarantee will be required with each bid as follows: (5%) percent of the amount bid, but in no event more than Ten Thousand ($10,000) Dollars, shall be furnished in the form of a certified check or bid bond payable to the Alabama State Port Authority. Performance and Payment bonds will be required at the signing of the contract in an amount not less than One Hundred (100%) percent of the contract price. No bid will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a proposal for this work in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license as required by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama. Also, non-residents of the State must show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in Alabama. The right is reserved, as the interest of the Alabama State Port Authority may require, to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in bids received. The Contractor will be required to commence work under this contract in accordance with GENERAL PROVISIONS Article 90-02 (NOTICE TO PROCEED), to prosecute said work with faithfulness and energy, and to complete the entire project within 300 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. The time stated for final completion shall include final clean-up of all work sites. Failure to complete work on schedule shall initiate liquidated damages, which will be assessed in accordance with the provisions of Paragraph 20-13 (LIQUIDATED DAMAGES) of GENERAL PROVISIONS. In addition, liquidated damages referenced in CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS shall also be initiated. The value listed on this project has NOT been provided by the engineer and should not be used when determining a bid for this project Question Deadline 05/09/2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents shall be submitted in writing to the Volkert Project Manager, Karman Richardson, at karman.richardson@volkert.com. The deadline for submitting questions will be 7 calendar days prior to bid opening.
