The contractor shall provide ready mix in accordance with the specifications, terms, and conditions found herein. The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT") is soliciting bids from qualified firms to from ready-mix concrete plants, which are VDOT approved, to provide on-call, as needed hydraulic cement concrete (ready-mix concrete) to various work locations/routes within Alleghany and Bath Counties of the Staunton District, including all towns and cities where routes are maintained by VDOT. It has been identified that VDOT needs to have ready-mix concrete available to handle various repairs in numerous locations. Therefore, it is VDOT's intent to establish multiple contracts to ensure that ready-mix concrete is available when needed at a reasonable cost, on time, and within close proximity to work locations. PERIOD OF CONTRACT The contract period will be one (1) year with the effective date to be determined at the time of award. (Renewable). The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of any questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than 5:00PM EST/EDT on April 25, 2025. . In order to be considered responsive to this bid, the concrete must be delivered from a VDOT-Approved Ready Mix Concrete Plant and provide this information on Attachment B. If the plant you wish to use is not currently approved, contact Chaz Weaver at 540-280-7035 or email to Chaz.Weaver@vdot.virginiag.gov in the District Materials Division for the application procedure. If the plant becomes approved, you may be considered for future bidding programs. BID ACCEPTANCE PERIOD: Any bid in response to this solicitation shall be valid for sixty (60) days. At the end of the sixty (60) days the bid may be withdrawn at the written request of the bidder. If the bid is not withdrawn at that time it remains in effect until an award is made or the solicitation is canceled. CANCELLATION OF CONTRACT: The Commonwealth reserves the right to cancel and terminate any resulting contract, in part or in whole, without penalty, upon 60 days' written notice to the Contractor. Any contract cancellation notice shall not relieve the Contractor of the obligation to deliver and/or perform on all outstanding orders issued prior to the effective date of cancellation.
