Site work, new construction and renovation of a civil project in Arkansas City, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; for site work for a water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Our citizens east of the Walnut River have experienced low water pressure for many years. Installing a new elevated water tank will allow a more consistent water flow for our citizens. This will be the first of many improvements being addressed with the new Drinking Water System Improvement Master Plan passed in 2024. This project will be funded using an SRF Loan, supported by user fees. This project is in included in the City of Arkansas City FY 2025-2034 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of April 21, 2025, information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed. A firm construction timeline has not been released. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
