The project consists of the construction of approximately 3400 feet (0.64 miles) total of 5-foot-wide concrete sidewalks at the adjacent neighborhoods of Boggy Creek Elementary School and Parkway Middel School. The sidewalk will be constructed along the north side of Florida Parkway from Jalapa Drive to Hidalgo Avenue; along the west side of Hidalgo Avenue from Florida Parkway to Jalapa Drive; and along the north side of Mante Drive from Jalapa Drive to Hidalgo Avenue. The construction will include drainage work to accommodate for the proposed improvements, driveway modifications, relocating signs, updating crosswalks with thermoplastic markings and other signing and pavement markings. All pedestrian facilities are to adhere to current ADA standards. Project will be constructed within the existing County Right of Way. The project also includes maintenance of traffic mobilization, earthwork and clearing, and grubbing. FDOT Pre-Qualification Requirements: Contractor Pre-Qualification: The Contractor (Prime) shall be Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Prequalified in the following Work Class Types: 40. Sidewalk Bid Bond. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security equaling 5% of the total bid. The bid security may be submitted in the form of a standard form bid bond from a surety licensed to do business in Florida and with a Best's or equivalent rating of A+ or more, or by a certified check, or a cashier's check. Failure to submit the bid security may result in the disqualification of your bid. Failure to submit bid security in the form of a bid bond may be used by the County as an indicator of financial non-responsibility. The terms of the bid security shall be that either the bidder will enter into the contract if awarded to the bidder, or the surety (or alternate form of security forfeit) will be responsible for the costs resulting from the failure of the bidder to enter into the contract including the increased costs associated with taking the next lowest responsive, responsible bidder and costs associated with conducting the bid and letting the contract. Correction or Withdrawal of Bids. Pursuant to Section 3.4-2 (D) of the Osceola County Administrative Code, withdrawal of bids may be accomplished by written notice received in said office prior to bid opening. If a bidder is permitted to withdraw its bid before award as provided in Section 3.4-2 (D), no action shall be taken against the bidder or the bid security.
