Siemens S70 Light Rail Vehicle Articulation Overhaul This Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to supply Utah Transit Authority (UTA) with materials to allow UTA to overhaul the Siemens S70 Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) Articulation. Questions Due Date: Apr 28th 2025, 2:00 PM MDT Online Portal Deadline to submit Questions and Request for Approved Equals or Changes to UT 1. UTA has in operation 77 Siemens S70 Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) fitted with Hubner Articulation Components. 2. Each LRV is equipped with two articulation sections. The two articulation assemblies are nearly identical, although inter-car connections differ between the two articulations. The A - C section has a steering triangle, and B - C section has a Pitching Joint (Connect Tube, Panhard rod). 3. UTA has issued this IFB to procure the required parts to overhaul both articulation sections of UTA's S70 LRV fleet to ensure reliable service for an additional 15 years without intermediate maintenance activity beyond routine inspection and preventative maintenance. 4. The overhaul is planned to be conducted by UTA personnel utilizing UTA's existing LRV facilities. The wearable items are planned to be removed from and installed onto the vehicle and tested by UTA personnel.
