Retrofit with New VFD Equipment: A. New Equipment Specification: 1. Provide and install new VFD units, rated appropriately for the system's three phase, 480V variable drive for 400HP motor and 16" Cla Val 16-81-01 load requirements. Details provided in Appendix A. 2. Equipment should meet the latest standards for energy efficiency, safety, and operational flexibility. 3. The VFD equipment must be compatible with existing systems, automation/control and capable of integrating with any updated components. 4. VFD must be designed with a sine wave filter to run 400HP-414A @ 3/60/460 VAC motor. 5. VFD shall have approximately 3%-line impedance with a lightening/surge arrestor. 6. VFD shall be 12 pulse, voltage source inverter and shall be designed to drive squirrel cage induction motor. The VFD shall be suitable for normal duty, variable torque driving centrifugal pumps. Vector controls shall be sensor-less, linear and adjustable, and shall have self-tuning capability. Circuit boards shall be conformal coated. VFD shall be suitable for operation in ambient temperature (inside enclosure) of 50 degrees C (122 degrees F). Harmonic filter will be determined by manufacturer requirements and its inclusion in the package. B. Installation Specification: 1. Install new VFD & required equipment, including power wiring, control wiring, and necessary auxiliary systems (filters, fuses, breakers, etc.). 2. Install any structural support systems or mounting as needed. 3. Ensure proper alignment and integration of VFD units into existing infrastructure. 4. Replace 480v feeder & motor wiring from the VFD to the bypass cabinet for powering 400HP pump for automatic operation from the VFD, or in hand with the use of the bypass contactor in emergency situations. C. Electrical Work Specification: 1. Ensure all electrical connections, including power, control, and grounding systems, are installed in compliance with local electrical codes. D. Mechanical Work Specification: 1. Ensure that the mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, motors, fans) are integrated with the new VFDs and that all drives and load requirements are correctly matched. E Programming and Configuration Specification: 1. Program the new VFDs for optimal performance, taking into account system requirements such as speed control, torque, and load characteristics. 2.
