Project is no longer needed. certified check or bank draft drawn on a solvent bank, payable without condition to the City of Starkville, Mississippi or a bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount shall be submitted with each bid as guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract properly secured. All contractors responding to this advertisement for bids must comply with all applicable requirements of Chapters 3 and 5 of Title 31 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids received, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, or to accept any bid which is deemed most favorable to the City. This work consists of furnishing, constructing, and maintaining baled hay or straw erosion checksforthe retention ofsoil along the top of fillslopes, around inlets,swale areas,small ditches, sediment basins, and other areas as directed by the Engineer in accordance with the requirements shown on the plans and these specifications. The work shall also include removing and disposing of the erosion checks and silt accumulations as directed by the Engineer. BIDDER hereby agrees to commence WORK under this contract on or before a date to be specified in the NOTICE TO PROCEED and to fully complete the PROJECT within 180 consecutive calendar days thereafter. BIDDER further agrees to pay as liquidated damages, the sum of $250 for each consecutive calendar day.
