Site work and paving for a road / highway in Sparks, Nevada. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

Pavement Rehabilitaion Project to include portions of: Ironwood, Whiskey Springs, Amy, Sharrock, Broken Spur, Right Hand Canyon and Range Land Roads. Should a bidder find discrepancies in or omissions from the drawings or contract documents, or should he/she be in doubt as to their meaning, he/she should at once (prior to bid opening) notify John Patterson - Trustee, at (775) 313-3564, who may send written instructions to all bidders Item 1: The Project consists of placement of chip seal on approximately 1 mile of Ironwood Road from the last mile of Ironwood Road to the Amy Road intersection at an average width of 22 feet; .88 of a mile of Amy Road, from Ironwood Road North to James Ranch Court at an average width of 21 feet; 3 miles of Whiskey Springs Road from Pyramid Highway East to the intersection of Amy Road at an average width of 22 feet, 1.4 miles of Sharrock Road and Broken Spur Road from Amy Road to Morgan Ranch Court at an average width of 21 feet. All roads are located in Palomino Valley, Washoe County, Nevada. The aggregate screenings for the chip seal shall conform to the requirements of Section 200.02.05, Screenings, for the 3/8-inch modified size of the Orange Book. The chips shall be applied at a rate of 28 pounds per square yard. The asphalt binder shall conform to the requirements of Section 201.04.1 - Specifications for Cationic Emulsified Asphalt for CRS-2. The application rate shall be 0.35 gallons per square yard. Chips shall be seated with a minimum two (2) passes with a minimum six-ton pneumatic roller. The chip seal shall receive a fog seal of SS-1 or SS-1h diluted 50/50 with water and applied at a rate of 0.10 gallons per square yard. o Item 2: The Project will include surface patching of Ironwood Road, Whiskey Springs Road, Amy Road, Broken Spur Road, Right Hand Canyon Road with Type 3 Plantmix Asphalt Concrete. Patching locations will be designated and marked by the PVGID. o Item 3 consists of excavation and patching the existing apron at Pyramid Highway and Range Land Road Marked in the field by the Palomino Valley General Improvement District. Patching shall consist of: A minimum 3.0-inch-thick Type 3 Plantmix shall be placed to match the existing surface of the adjacent Cape seal/Asphalt. The AC patch shall be compacted with a minimum of five passes with a drum roller. The patched surface shall receive a fog seal of SS-1 asphalt emulsion diluted 50:50 with water at an application rate of approximately 0.10 gallons per square yard. o Item 4: The Project consists of the placement of Cape Seal on approximately 1.57 miles of Amy Road from Whiskey Springs Road South to James Ranch Court at an average width of 21 feet. The Cape Seal shall consist of an initial application of a chip seal utilizing type 2, 1/2 inch aggregate, and CMS-2P asphalt emulsion followed by a final application of a Type III slurry seal with the exception that no fog seal will need to be applied. The slurry seal shall conform to Section 318.00 for a type III gradation applied at an average rate of 22 pounds per square yard. These Special Conditions supplement and modify the Plans and Specifications indicated below. Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction, sponsored and distributed by Washoe County, City of Sparks, City of Reno, Carson City and Douglas County, 2016. Standard detailsfor Public Works Construction,sponsored and distributed by Carson City, Douglas County, City of Fallon, Lander County, Lyon County, Nye County, City of Reno, City of Sparks, Washoe County, City of Yerington. Payment shall be made on the square footage placed at the unit price bid. Unit price for each item of work shall allow for expansion of work scope as the Palomino Valley General Improvement District's budget allows. Additional quantities of work beyond those set forth in the bid schedule shall be paid at the unit price for each respective item. Removal by saw or blade cutting of the existing Cape Seal Surface Over excavation and removal of at least 6 inches of native subgrade soil. Excavated materials shall be disposed of at the PVGID Ironwood pit. The bottom of the excavation shall be densified to the extent practical. The over excavation shall be backfilled with Type 2 Class B aggregate base placed in a single lift and densified with a small drum roller. The resulting surface should be smooth, firm and unyielding at a depth of 3 inches The PVGID reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any technicalities, and to accept the bid proposal deemed most advantageous to the Palomino Valley General Improvement District.
