The Trujillo Adobe, located at 3669 W Center Street, Riverside, CA 92501, is a partially intact ruin of an adobe single-family residence constructed in 1862. The Riverside County Regional Park and Open-Space District (District) is seeking statements of qualifications from highly qualified architects with experience dealing with historic properties to provide the services detailed herein. We expect the master plan to take up to a year to develop, but we hope this effort can be expedited. We anticipate that the needs of the Adobe work will be concurrently identified during the early master planning sessions, and we hope that the design can begin during the finalization of the master plan efforts. The Adobe project budget has not been finalized and grants are being sought, but will likely be over $10M. The goal is to complete all work within 3 years of award of contract. It is anticipated that the architect will hire and lead the primary consulting team. This may include, but not be limited to: the standard subconsultants for construction documents, as well as specialists as needed in the areas of historic preservation, interpretive programming and other specialties as discussed herein. The District seeks an experienced team at all levels who has previously been deeply engaged and charged with complex historic master planning and rehabilitation work similar to this project. The architect will take the lead on all efforts to gather input from the public, local planning groups, interested specialty groups, and the municipalities involved in both the master plan and the Adobe work under the guidance and direction of the District's project manager. This will include coordination of the location, room setup, meeting agenda, speakers, meeting notes, tasking and assignments, and generally taking the lead overall for each event.
