This is a request for quotation (RFQ) for construction services to replace security gates at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. The amendment 2 is needed to update the close date close date to June 30, 2025. General. This scope of work calls for the supply and installation of Lenel Access Control System and Intrusion Detection System for a total of five (5) doors, to include a 38Ah battery backup to be tied into NDW dispatch. Project Description: The scope of this project includes the demolition and removal of two existing gates and replacement of those gates to align with existing receivers and utilize existing wiring, controls, and ground sensors. At each gate the removal of the existing four-inch square twenty-foot-long steel drop arm gate beams with their associated counterweights. Each beam and counterweight assembly weigh approximately seven hundred and fifty pounds. Also, work consists of removal of two existing four foot tall, by three feet deep, by four feet wide gate apparatus control boxes which included gate motors, mechanical components, and electrical wiring. In addition, work consists of hot work, cutting at ground level, a total of four ten-inch steel I beams to provide space for the new gate apparatus. While removing the old gates and associated cabinets, do not excavate existing concrete base. Save in place electrical utilities to be re-used. Save in place wiring associated with underground gate sensors being careful not to damage or cut short the conductors. Following completion of demolition of existing gate and gate cabinets lawfully dispose of all items off NPS property. The Lift Master BG790 Industrial AC Barrier and Gate Operator With Wishbone Gate will constitute the salient characteristics of the Basis of Design. Provide a shop drawing of the new gate, drop arm, and associated apparatus for approval. Once approved by the COR, the contractor is instructed to install two new replacement gates. The salient features of the new gates also include a cabinet heater and Timer to Close components. Re-attach all existing gate wiring, and gate sensors to provide a fully functional drop arm gate assembly. Coordinate with COR and NPS Dispatch Center (at Mt Rushmore NM) to commission new gates. Commissioning includes verification that the existing intercom and all existing attributes of the old gate operation are carried over to the new gates. Project Location: Mount Rushmore National Memorial, 13000 Hwy 244 Bldg 31, Suite 1 Keystone, Pennington County, SD Magnitude of Project: Between $100,000 and $250,000. Bonds: Required as stated in block 12. Payment bonds/protection in the amount of 100% of final contract award amount. NAIC Code: 238290, Automatic gate (e.g., garage, parking lot) installation. The small business size standard is $22 million. Notice of Set Aside: This project is set aside 100 % Total Small Business. Site Visit: A site visit is highly encouraged. A site visit is schedule for May 29, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time. For more details, see provision 52.236-27, Site Visit (Construction), Alternate 1 for specific guidance.
