Proposals will be received for furnishing labor, materials, and equipment necessary for resurfacing city streets as follows: 28,480 Tons Bituminous Concrete Surface, Type SF-9.5B 2,268 Tons Bituminous Concrete Surface, Type SF-9.5C 24,178 S.Y. Bituminous Surface Treatment, Mat Coat 291,240 S.Y. Asphalt Milling 0"-3" Depth Each proposal must be accompanied by cash, a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn on a bank or trust company authorized to do business in North Carolina, payable to the City of Burlington in an amount equal, at least, to five (5%) percent of the total amount of bid. In lieu of cash, a cashier's check, or certified check, the bidder may submit an acceptable bid bond in the amount of five (5%) percent of the total bid, in accordance with G.S. 143-129. At their discretion, the City of Burlington reserves the right to remove street sections and their respective quantities if the low bid amount exceeds the amount that is budgeted for the contract. The contract to be awarded for the proposed work may be extended up to one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price without consent and permission of the contractor. Total extensions not to exceed one hundred (100%) percent of the contract price. All contractors are hereby notified that they shall be properly licensed under North Carolina State Laws governing their respective trades. The City of Burlington reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities and to award a contract or contracts which in the opinion of the City appear to be in its best interest. The right is reserved to hold any or all proposals for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from date of opening thereof.
