Pre-cast Box Culverts Installation - Logan County Concrete Pre-cast Box Culvert to be purchased and installed by a certified firm licensed to perform work in Colorado and comply with all applicable standards for highway construction All poured in place concrete per plans and specifications. Poured in place concrete shall have a minimum compression strength of 4500 pounds based on a 28-day test result. (Type BDP mix or equal) Rebar to be epoxy coated. 4. Sheet piling to be 7 gauge galvanized, 5 feet in depth, Backfill - Class #1 backfill to be used on side and top of box culvert. Compaction is required to avoid settling. Six inches of class 6 road base used under asphalt. The asphalt pavement has a depth of five inches, installed in two lifts with a minimum of six hours between lifts. Traffic control is the responsibility of the contractor. 8. The Vans Way Acre project requires bypass roads for local residents. 9. County Road 43.5 can be closed during construction. 10. Existing structures to be removed by contractor and disposed of offsite. 11. Soil Stabilization - if soil is not adequate to support concrete culvert it may require overexcavation and installing approved rock to stabilize the soil. This work will be paid for as a change order to the contractor. 12.The precast box culvert to be ordered with rebar exposed on both ends (top and sides) to connect poured in place wing walls and must meet ASTM C1577 standards. A performance and payment bond in an amount of at least 50% of the total contract price will be required. (1) Vansway Drive in the Springdale Irrigation Canal. The estimate should include installing a bypass road and removal of existing culvert. Installing sheet piling on both ends and a new 45' long, 6' x 10' inside dimension pre-cast concrete box culvert with concrete wing walls installed on both ends. Logan County will supply backfill material. (2) County Road 43.5 approximately 1/4 mile north of County Road 36. The estimate should include removal of asphalt and existing culvert. Installing sheet piling on both ends and a new 45' long, 8' x 10' inside dimension precast concrete box culvert with concrete wing walls installed on both ends.
