Civic Center Park Improvements INTRODUCTION This geotechnical subsurface investigation report has been prepared for the potential expansion of mentor civic center park. The proposed expansion consists of construction of parking areas, seven pickleball courts, two basketball courts, and a water retention basin near the newly proposed parking area. The Site Location Map is shown in Plate 1, attached to this report. This report summarizes our understanding of the proposed construction, describes the investigative and testing procedures, presents the findings, discusses our evaluations and conclusions, and provides our design and construction recommendations for the proposed development. The purpose of this investigation was to evaluate the subsurface conditions and laboratory data relative to the design and construction of foundations and pavements at the referenced site. This investigation included thirteen (13) test borings, field and laboratory soil testing, and a geotechnical engineering evaluation of the test results. This report includes: o A description of the existing subsurface soils, rock, and groundwater conditions encountered in the borings, o A site reconnaissance summary of the observed conditions for the existing slope Marsh Creek, o Laboratory test results of soils samples, o Geotechnical recommendation for pavements, slabs, ponds and light tower foundations, o Recommendations concerning soil and groundwater-related construction procedures such as site preparation, earthwork, pavement subgrade preparation, and related field testing.
