**As of June 12th 2025, the project was awarded to LeChase Construction but the awarded amount is not available.** Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking proposals from Construction Management firms to provide professional, at-risk construction management services for the design and construction phase of a NIH-funded 5,292 GSF Biobanking Systems Facility, which is to be located on the first floor of the Gratwick Basic Sciences Building at 99 High Street, Buffalo New York 14263. The project will include consolidating sample processing on the 7th floor and performing renovations to accommodate the new specimen intake, tissue and liquid processing functions and enabling work. The project will also include the addition of a delivery pull-off to a new exterior bulk liquid nitrogen tank to provide redundant back up for the high density automated ultra-low temperature freezer units. The goal of the Biobanking Systems Facility is to consolidate Roswell Park’s existing freezer storage into an “error-free” robotic unit. Biospecimens are currently stored in standalone -80 and LN2 freezers that are scattered throughout the Gratwick Basic Science Building (GBSB) and Cell & Virus (C&V) buildings. The new 5,292 GSF facility will provide space and infrastructure for an automated ultra-low temperature freezer unit by Hamilton BiOS. The design will allow for additional modules/units to be installed in the future with minimal disruption to the facility. The automated ultra-low temperature freezer units accommodate a wide range of sample requirements and have redundant refrigeration systems as backup in the unlikely event of refrigeration failure.
