**As of June 16, 2025, the project was awarded to Gerke Excavating Inc, with an awarded amount of $15,127,040.** The Project generally consists approximately 77,700-feet of a thirty-inch (30") HDPE Water Transmission Main in two segments. One segment is approximately 40,000-ft and the other segment is approximately 37,700-feet. Both segments are to include clearing of right-of-way, post - construction restoration, and supplying all materials and labor for installation for the water main via a combination of open trenching and boring methods. The City may elect to award both segments to the same bidder or to different bidders. To allow all questions during the bid period to be sufficiently reviewed and appropriately answered by way of addenda, the deadline for submitting questions will be 4:00 PM CST, Monday, May 19, 2025. Bids must be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope or package with the words "City of Kenedy Water Transmission Main Segment 1 and Segment 2 CDBG-MIT GLO CONTRACT 22-085-006-D234 Project". Bids received after the above stipulated time will be rejected and returned unopened. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately after above-stipulated time. Bid evaluations will be completed at a later time and date.Bids must be clearly marked on the outside of the envelope or package with the words "City of Kenedy Water Transmission Main Segment 1 and Segment 2 CDBG-MIT GLO CONTRACT 22-085-006-D234 Project". A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Kenedy may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The City requires Payment and Performance Bonds in 100% of the contract amount. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) Wage Rate, as issued by the U.S. Department of Labor and contained in the Contract Documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity or national origin. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award.
