Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Carson, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a 1,400-square-foot playground / park / athletic field.

**As of June 24, 2025 bids for this project has been rejected. As of this time it is unknown if and when project will rebid. No late bids will be accepted. Bids received after the deadline established will not be considered for this project. Bidders are strongly encouraged to carefully read the entire IFB and are solely responsible for the timely submittal of complete bids. The City reserves the sole right to evaluate the bids submitted, waive any irregularity therein, approve sub-consultants (if applicable), and select or reject bids, should such action be deemed in the best interests of the City. Any attempt to lobby members of the Carson City Council, or City of Carson staff during the release of the solicitation and the announcement of the award determination, may result in disqualification from the selection process. BID GUARANTY: Bids must be accompanied by cash, or by cashier's or certified check made payable to the City of Carson, or by a bid bond executed by an admitted surety insurer on the bond form provided herein, in the amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid submitted, made payable to the City of Carson as a guarantee that the bidder, whose bid is accepted, will promptly execute the contract, secure payment of workers' compensation insurance, and furnish a satisfactory faithful performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price and a payment bond (labor and material bond) in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price which complies with all of the requirements of Civil Code Section 9554. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Liquidated damages of $3,000 per calendar day will apply to this project. See Special Provisions for detailed information on liquidated damages. Mills Park is approximately 4.45 acres (195,000 sq.ft) centrally located in the City of Carson. The park is surrounded by single family dwellings. The project scope involves but not limited to, expanding the building by approx. 1,400 sq.ft., to provide more office space, public restrooms and additional internal storage. (Façade Improvements. Interior Improvements including flooring, kitchen renovations, restroom modifications, office expansion), walkway enhancements and the project will also remove the old wading pool to be replaced with a splash pad water feature.
