Renovation of a mixed-use development in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
**As of May 26, 2025, the project was awarded to System Integrations and Installation, but the awarded amount is not available.** The Bedford County Department of Finance (hereinafter referred to as "Bedford County") is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals from qualified and experienced firms or individuals to provide structured building wiring and outside plant wiring for Bedford County Schools. The selected provider will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of both existing and new copper/fiber wiring and/or wireless connectivity. The scope of services will encompass approximately 17 school locations, additional school system support service sites, and any potential future expansions throughout Bedford County. The anticipated term of the contract is from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, with the option for up to three (3) one-year renewals. The effective date of the contract will be the later of the anticipated date or the date upon which the contract is officially filed with the Bedford County Department of Finance. Bid Bond/Deposit of Good Faith: Bidders must submit a Bid Bond of 10% of total bid with their completed Bid Forms. This can be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or a properly executed bond made payable to Bedford County. Bid deposits will be held until the contract is awarded, with the deposit of the successful bidder held until all work is completed and any required Performance Bonds are provided. If the bidder refuses to enter into a contract, Bedford County will retain the Bid Security as liquidated damages, not as a penalty. Performance Bond and Labor and Material Bond: The selected bidder must provide bonds covering the faithful performance of the contract and the payment of all obligations arising from it. Each bond must cover 100% of the contract sum. The bond may be provided as an unconditional letter of credit from a local bank for at least the contract sum. These bonds must be delivered to Bedford County by the time of the contract execution. Failure to deliver the required bonds will be considered an abandonment of the contract, and the Bid Security will be retained by Bedford County as liquidated damages. Bedford County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any irregularities as deemed necessary to make an award in the best interest of Bedford County. The contract(s) will be awarded solely to responsible respondents whose proposals are determined to fall within the competitive range, based on the evaluation criteria outlined in this RFP. Direct questions related to this RFP to Christy Williams, Technology Department, Bedford County Schools, at 931-684-3284 X 2243, fax at 931-685-0698, or via email at williamsc@bedfordk12tn.net. Include the RFP number, page, and paragraph number for each question.
