Renovation of a residential development in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
Any vendor questions not asked during the site visit must be submitted in writing to: Brooklyn.CMM.Bids@opwdd.ny.gov (within two business days of the site visit: May 8, 2025). DESCRIPTION: 2nd Floor Bathroom Renovation The vendor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work in a professional manner according to scope of work and architectural drawings if supplied. Work is to be completed within 14 days of award, unless modified below. This is a NYS Public Works project, and prevailing wages are to be paid. Refer to attached specification for the following scope of work. Site must be cleaned, and all materials secured at the end of each workday. Absolutely no scraps, especially fasteners, are to be left unsecured. Upon completion of bathroom renovation before removal of equipment and scaffolding, contractor is to schedule a quality control and quality assurance inspection with Plant Superintendent. Important: This NYS/OPWDD residential home is and will be occupied during construction work. All provisions must be made to minimize disruption and keep the home safe for occupants. No egress routes shall be blocked at any time. Materials and debris must be protected for safety. Contractor must comply with all applicable NYS codes. SCOPE OF WORK includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: 1. Contractor shall verify the actual measurements of the job Contractor will supply labor all materials and equipment to get the job completed in a timely manner 2. Contractors must attend bid meeting if wishing to bid on this public works project. 3. All current electrical and plumbing codes must be strictly adhered to and once completed, inspected by a third-party licensed electrician with a certificate provided to the DDSO for record retention and safety. This is to be included in the bid pricing and is the contractor's responsibility or job will not get signed off on. 4. Supply all Labor and materials and needed equipment for a complete and finished job. 5. Work area must be always covered with a min of 3 Mil plastic to prevent dust and dirt in the home during ongoing construction. 6. Remove and discard offsite, Toilet, Sink and base, Radiator covers and all other cabinets, shelving ETC. 7. Remove all existing Wall tile throughout the entire bathroom and discard off site. 8. Remove ceiling fixtures, receptacles, light switches, exhaust fans and discard offsite. Cap all electrical items to prevent hazard. 9. Remove all sheetrock from all walls and ceiling. 10. Remove existing bathtub and discard offsite, do not leave near or at the home once removed. 11. Remove existing floor tile down to the wood floor joist. Replace all rotted floor joist as needed. 12. Supply and install new _ exterior grade plywood sheathing as sub flooring properly fastened to the floor joist. 13. Check and inspect and test the condition of plumbing pipes. Replace all drain lines with new PVC and all water supply lines with copper piping. No hot work is to be performed; use of pro press required. 14. Replace all Sink and Toilet supply lines with new flexible stainless steel braided lines. 15. Supply and install new Schluter membrane with integrated drain locking system over the sub floor and 12" up on all walls. 16. Supply and install R-14 foil fiberglass insulation on all exterior walls. 17. Supply and install _" Durarock in the shower area, from floor to ceiling with all seams sealed to prevent any water leakage. 18. Supply and install 1/2" water resistant sheetrock on all other walls. All walls again to be sealed seamlessly. 19. Supply and install new ADA compliant barrier free shower stall with floor drain 3" curb and bench. All joints to be sealed with epoxy grout. 20. Supply and install new American Standard shower body Kit or equivalent 21. Supply and install new stainless steel grab bars and soap dish inside shower area. 22. Supply and install new floor drains in the bathroom and new shower stall. Check and test for leaks, if leaks are found you must replace and repair with the above-mentioned new piping before continuing work. 23. Install treated blocking for all walls hung items. 24. Supply and install new 24' ADA compliant vanity. Top of vanity to have integrated sink. New PVC trap and braided stainless stell lines to be installed on the supply lines as mentioned above. Supply and install new pop-up drain in sink. 25. Supply and install new water shut off valves for all fixtures. 26. Supply and install new Toilet bowl with appropriate seat. Toilet to be floor mounted, comfort height with a power flush unit. All new stainless steel braided supply lines to be furnished and checked for leaks. 27. Supply and install 2"x2" non-slip mosaic on floor throughout the bathroom. All tiles to be epoxy grouted. Page 2 of 4 28. Supply and Install 8"x12" ceramic tile on all walls of the bathroom, 48" high and from ceiling to floor inside the new barrier free shower stall. All tiles to be epoxy grouted. 29. Supply and install new 24" medicine cabinet with mirror. 30. Supply and install new GFCI outlet. 31. All fire and safety devices may not be removed and must be covered during working hours and uncovered daily at the end of each day. This is of most importance failure to comply will result in DDSO bad performance reviews for future projects. 32. Supply and Install New Lighting fixture over the medicine cabinet 33. Supply and install new LED lighting inside the Bathroom area and inside the shower stall. 34. Contractor is required to provide $1 Million in insurance liability coverage. 35. Contractor is to supply a Three-year warranty on all work. And all debris must be removed daily. 36. All work must not interfere with day-to-day operation. No asbestos or lead abatement of materials is required for this project. Testing has been completed prior to bidding of this project, All ACM and Lead reports are available upon request.
