Award a contract based on best overall value, not necessarily the lowest cost. Negotiate terms with the selected contractor as necessary In accordance with Public Act 213 of 1963, all contracts exceeding $50,000 require: A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in an amount not less than 25% of the total contract. Bonds must be issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Michigan. Bonds must be filed with the Township prior to the start of work.
