Question Deadline 05/09/2025 clarification must be received through the Public Purchase System 1.1. Prepare and refinish existing athletic court's wood flooring at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. Provide all materials, labor, equipment, and tools necessary for refinishing of the existing maple gymnasium flooring. The existing floor is approximately 107.25 feet by 80.25 feet (8,607 square feet), and includes a primary basketball court, a primary volleyball court, and secondary (cross) volleyball courts. 1.2. Examine the entirety of the floor area to be sealed and finished to identify areas of potential concern related to the successful outcome of the project. Sound the entire floor to check for dead spots and identify areas where excessive vertical movement of the wood floor system exists. Where appropriate, install additional fasteners appropriate to the aesthetics and integrity of the venue to remedy or improve the integrity of the flooring and for successful installation of the floor refinishing system. Method and products to be used for additionally securing the flooring system shall be reviewed and approved by the Director prior to installation. 1.3. Work shall commence within thirty (30) consecutive calendar days of Notice To Proceed issued by the County. Contractor shall have thirty (30) consecutive calendar days to complete all work and turnover the project to the County. 1.4. It is understood and agreed that time is of the essence to implement and complete this project for this critical facility to reopen for use as soon as possible. Failure to complete the project within the allotted timeframe shall constitute a delay, and it is agreed the Contractor shall pay the County, as liquidated damages, the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) per consecutive calendar day until the project is completed.
