Framing, Drywall, & ACT Work CONTRACT TERM: The Contract Term will be (1) year with the option to renew two (2) additional one-year terms, unless cancelled in writing 30 days before the end of current term. Rockdale County is seeking experienced labor for construction of small commercial interior projects. The successful bidder will provide labor and material on a per project basis. The highest ranked, qualified contractor will receive a negotiated unit rate contract and will be employed on an as needed basis on various projects. For each project a scope of services and not to exceed fee will be agreed upon between the contractor and the County and executed through a Purchase Order type agreement. Most work orders will be for less than $15,000. 2) Scope of Work: a) The scope of work generally involves wood and metal framing including walls, headers, sills, joists, rafters, new framing, rough in of utilities, drywall installation and finishing; acoustical ceilings; roofing; demolition of interiors; minor concrete work; installation of prefabricated cabinets and laminate countertops; painting; and other small contract work as needed. b) Contractor will be responsible for protection of all existing surfaces during performance of work and shall cleanup site and remove all extra materials. c) The cost per Purchase Order will not typically exceed $50,000 for any individual project. Any project over $50,000 will require bonding. No project will exceed $100,000 in cost. To maximize contracting opportunities with Historically Underutilized Businesses, Contracting Authorities shall strive for a goal of at least fifteen percent (15%) of contracts being awarded to Historically Underutilized Businesses annually. This goal shall be measured by the total value of work for each County project, including projects done by a private entity on a facility to be leased or purchased by the County REJECTION OF PROPOSAL: Rockdale County may reject any and all proposals and must reject a proposal of any party who has been delinquent or unfaithful in any formal contract with Rockdale County. Also, the right is reserved to waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposal in the proposing procedure. Rockdale County shall be the sole judge as to which proposal is best, and in ascertaining this, will take into consideration the business integrity, financial resources, facilities for performing the work, and experience in similar operations of the various proposers.
