The work under this Contract will consist generally of the following: Division I: The construction of a 1,000 gpm deep well, chlorine, phosphate and floride equipment, pump house, electrical items, 12" mag meter, piping telemetry system, altitude valve and associated appurtenances. Division II: The construction of one (1) 250,000 gallon steel, elevated storage tank, altitude valve, ductile iron site piping, +-2 each 12" gate valve with box, +-62 LF 12" C900 PVC water main, and all associated appurtenances. All work on the Project must be completed within 240 consecutive calendar days of date of notice to proceed. No bid will be considered unless sealed and filed with the City of Lyons, Georgia prior to the time set forth above, and accompanied by a Bidder's Bond, payable to City of Lyons, Georgia, for 10 percent of the amount of the bid; to be forfeited as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to enter promptly into a written contract and furnish the required Payment Bond and Performance Bond and Insurance Certificates. Both the Payment Bond and Performance Bond shall be equal to 100% of the contract amount. Bids arriving after the designated time will be returned unopened. The City of Lyons encourages Section 3 Businesses to participate in the bidding process. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of bids. The City of Lyons, Georgia reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to overlook and/or disregard informalities or irregularities in the proposals.
