(1) The modification of Magnolia Creek, Cedar Gully, and related tributaries to be regraded/sized to accommodate for Atlas 14 data to ensure subdivisions (Westover Park, Countryside, Magnolia Creek, Rustic Oaks) drainage into the system is meeting design standards and does not result in structural flooding within the neighborhoods. Desnagging of the waterways will need to take place with this work. (2) The modification of outlets up to 5 detention basins (all located in the Magnolia Creek Subdivision) in the Mag Creek sub-watershed so that stormwater inflows for most events are stored in the basin and the discharge is allowed to pass through to the downstream channel. (3) The modification of the Summer Place Culvert crossing into a staged culvert opening by placing multiple barrels at different elevations. Environmental permitting is a critical path due to USACE involvement and should be started as early as possible. The USACE could permit this work under a Nationwide Permit or a Standard Individual Permit. A NWP is typically a 6 month process but a SIP is typically a 2 year process. Permitting determination came back July of 2021; an individual permit is required The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of April 13,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
