This project will implement the planned improvements for approximately 3.6 acres of the park, creating new recreational amenities and public gathering spaces. Planned improvements include a children's play area, event and gathering space, interactive water feature, pathways and Trolley Trail connections, restrooms, public art and interpretive elements, redwood tree preservation, and geese mitigation. The project will enhance access to the riverfront and provide expanded recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. While significant progress has been made in securing funding, additional resources are still required to fully complete the planned improvements. Milwaukie Bay Park will be maintained by the city after Phase III is constructed. Weekly park maintenance consisting of mowing, weeding, bathroom cleaning, and litter collection will be required out the city's operating budget, plus additional infrastructure and city assests will be required to maintain the park. The project is included in the City's 2027-2028 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of July 2, 2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
