The City of Westland is seeking proposals from experienced and qualified developers regarding new investments at the former City Hall site on Ford Road. The City of Westland is seeking development proposals from qualified developers to enter into a joint public-private partnership with the City to redevelop 40 acres of property (14 acres of Parcel 56046010001001, entirety of Parcel 5604601001001) Ford Road frontage (1,200 ft.) as an innovative, mixed-use development. The response to this proposal will serve as the initial project business plan and as the basis for the City's negotiations with one or more development teams. Thus, it is critical that all submissions provide great detail and necessary information. The City of Westland is willing to consider a wide-range of economic incentives to support an innovative use of this important land, including but not limited to the potential for providing a 30-year master lease of the land, grant funding towards infrastructure and development costs, the endorsement of an application for liquor license, and additional support through the use of the Downtown Development Authority and the Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. The development site is located at the heart of our vibrant community and offers significant potential for diverse development opportunities. Through several resident and stakeholder engagements over the past 10 years, it has become clear that the community wishes to see this area serve as a hub that serves residents, attracts visitors, and creates job opportunities. Economic investments serve as the backbone of local economies, providing job opportunities, stimulating entrepreneurship, and increasing tax revenues that can be reinvested into community services and infrastructure.
