Renovation of a parking garage in Kitchener, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.

The Work areas will be available as of Monday June 23, 2025. Contractor to confirm date of mobilization. All work outlined in these specifications is to be complete by Friday, August 15, 2025, providing for a construction schedule of 8 weeks. Based on a construction start date of Monday June 23, 2025. Work under this Contract includes localized repairs to Levels P1 and P2 of the parking garage structure servicing the Waterloo Regional Network Midtown Hospital at 835 King Street West in the City of Kitchener in the Province of Ontario. Description of Existing Structure 1 The Waterloo Regional Network Midtown Parking Garage is a 4-storey, split level design parking structure located at the southwest corner of the intersection of King Street West and Green Street in Kitchener, Ontario. 2 The parking garage has a rectangular footprint with plan dimensions of approximately 270 feet in the north-south direction and 194 feet in the east-west direction. The three suspended parking levels (i.e. split Levels P3 to P8) provide approximately 132,000 square feet of parking space above grade. The first storey (Levels P1 and P2) is located partially below-grade and provides approximately 44,000 square feet of on-grade parking. The garage has the capacity to accommodate approximately 520 vehicles and typically utilizes one-way traffic flow with right-angle parking. Vehicle access between the upper and lower parking levels is via four (4) one-way interconnecting ramps per level. .3 The parking garage utilizes a combination of post-tensioned and normally-reinforced cast-in-place concrete construction. The suspended parking slabs typically consist of 12-inch thick, two-way, post-tensioned concrete flat slab construction. The post-tensioning systems utilized on Levels P3 and P4 suspended parking levels is an unbonded button head system. The post-tensioning systems utilized on Levels P5 to P8 suspended parking levels is an unbonded monostrand system. The suspended concrete slabs are generally supported by normally reinforced, rectangular concrete columns. The typical suspended inter-level ramp and pedestrian walkway slabs are generally 8-inch thick, normally-reinforced, one-way concrete flat slabs supported by a combination of concrete corbels, beams and columns. Description of Work .1 It is the Contractor's responsibility to provide all labour, material, equipment and supervision to complete the repairs outlined in this specification taking into account all site conditions, noise restriction, work area restrictions, protection requirements, accessibility restrictions, etc. No extras will be entertained for inconveniences after the award of this Contract. Provide a consent of surety to provide the Owner with with a Performance Bond equal to 100% of the Contract Price and a Labour and Material Payment Bond equal to 50% of the Contract Price with the bid submission. Provide a bid bond bid deposit made payable to the Owner for 10% of the Contract Price. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids as the interests of the Owner may require, without stating reasons for rejection.
