Project No: T0711-00 - Restroom Renovations and Waste Pipe Replacement Location: Carneys Point Rest Area (Deepwater Welcome Center), 452 South Pennsville Auburn Road - Carneys Point, Salem County, NJ Question Deadline 03/05/2026 Every request for an interpretation relating to clarification or correction of the plans, specifications, or other bid documents must be made in writing, addressed to the architect/engineer and the DPMC Director The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: Refer also to the Summary of Work sections for each of the technical divisions, which contain more detailed information than outlined below. Refer also to the drawings for additional details and scope of work. "Building" below refers to the Carneys Point Rest Area building, unless otherwise noted. Refer to the construction phasing and sequencing notes on the drawings. Contractor shall develop a detailed phasing and sequencing work plan, including a schedule, based on their means and methods. The DPMC and Engineer will require the contractor's plan and schedule to be submitted for review and approval prior to construction; submit within 14 days of the NTP. Refer to drawing G102 for site staging plan. The Contractor's staging and storage areas shall be enclosed with secure temporary chain-link metal fencing. Fencing is required to be 8'-0" high with all sections attached together. The fences shall be of the type that is founded on pads and not with posts driven into the ground. Gates for the fencing shall be padlocked and five (5) sets of keys for each lock shall be provided to the Facility. All sections of the fence shall be securely clipped together. Contractor must maintain access and use of (2) public toilet facilities at all times. This means only one toilet room can be under construction at any time, and needs to be fully operational, inspected, and approved by DPMC and DOT prior to the start of construction in the next toilet room. Facility is operational 24/7. Any work that requires utility outages to areas outside of the current construction area is required to be performed on 3rd shift, on a mutually agreed upon date with DOT. Temporary construction signage shall be submitted and approved by the engineer and the DOT, prior to installation. Provide plumbing demolition as per the drawings. Perform snaking/jetting of underground sanitary lines from toilet room pipe chases to nearest sanitary manhole to ensure lines are clear. Provide a video of each line after snaking/jetting the lines and submit for record purposes. Provide and install new plumbing fixtures, as per the drawings. Where plumbing fixtures are installed in the same location and mounting height as demolished fixtures, existing plumbing fixtures carriers and supports may be used. Contractor is responsible for replacement of any bolts or supports that are not suitable for reuse. Where plumbing fixtures are installed in a different location and/or mounting height as demolished fixtures, new plumbing fixtures carriers and supports shall be provided. Contractor is responsible to carefully remove the existing block to allow for the new carrier and installation of new block. Refer to architectural drawings for tile work. All new plumbing fixtures shall have sensor operation. Urinals and water closets should have new sensors & covers, 120V-24V transformers and all low-voltage wiring included. Lavatories shall have integral sensors along with new 120V-24V transformers and all low-voltage wiring included. All new low-voltage wiring shall be routed via new conduit (hard piped or flexible) through the existing block walls. All low-voltage wiring shall be carefully supported and routed in a workmanlike manner. Provide and install new PVC sanitary waste and vent piping, hangers, and appurtenances. Provide architectural demolition and tile removal as per the drawings. Provide and install new toilet partitions and perform all required ceiling cutting and patching, as required for supporting new partitions from building structure above/below. Provide and install new tile where noted on the architectural drawings. Provide and install new toilet accessories as per the drawings and specifications. Provide electrical demolition as per the drawings and as required for the architectural and plumbing demo/new construction work activities. All electrical work shall conform to the prime contractor's work sequence and also the phasing/sequencing requirements on the drawings/specs. Provide and install new 120V wiring for the new 120-24V transformers for the plumbing fixture sensors. Provide and install wiring for the new hand-dryers. Provide all contract required close-out documents, as-builts and documentation. Complete all remaining contract work, as required in these specifications and as shown on the drawings.
