No Bids Are to Be Picked Up at the Engineer's Office or at the Municipality Offices. Payment Must Be Received Prior to Obtaining Said Specifications. No Bids Are to Be Dropped Off at the Engineer's Office The City of Orange reserves the right to consider the bids for sixty (60) days after the receipt thereof, and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also to waive any informality in any and make such awards or take action as may be in the best interest of the City of Orange, in accordance with applicable law. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Remington and Vernick Engineers, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. Said bids shall be addressed to the City of Orange Township, Department of Public Works, 29 North Day Street, Orange, NJ 07050. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the City of Orange in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. Bid shall also be accompanied by a certificate letter from a surety company stating that it will provide the bidder with the completion bond. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. If you are an interested contractor and wish to be listed as a bidder, please notify our editorial staff at addtobidlist@constructconnect.com. Every request for such interpretation should be made in writing, addressed to the Engineer, and to be given consideration, must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the final date fixed for receiving bids. 1) The work for this project includes, but it not necessarily limited to the following major work items: a) Removal of existing playground equipment and complete installation of new Gametime playground equipment. The City of Orange Township will be purchasing the playground equipment directly from MRC Recreation. b) Removal of existing hot mix asphalt sidewalk and installation of new circulation path as indicated on the plans. c) Removal and replacement of existing playground surface with new poured-in-place rubberized safety surface with an underdrain system. d) Installation of park amenities, such as benches, picnic tables, bollards, as indicated on the plans. e) Topsoiling and seeding. f) All related incidental work, including but not limited to, maintenance and protection of traffic, dust control, soil erosion, site clearing, cleaning and restoration. g) Restore all disturbed areas in kind in the same condition or better prior to commencing improvements. This shall include topsoiling, seeding, and fertilizing. 2) All related incidental work, including traffic control, dust control, soil erosion control, clearing, cleaning and restoration. 3) The contractor shall be responsible for the location of all utilities and to schedule all work involved with utilities. Any cost related to this coordination shall be included in the various items in the proposal. 4) Contractors will be responsible for on-site safety and shall always provide a qualified on-site safety appointee for the duration of the project. The above Scope of Work outlines the general items and shall not be construed as being all-inclusive.
