This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Park Ridge, Illinois. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The City of Park Ridge would like to receive proposals from well-qualified firms to provide services consisting of creating the architectural information from the L. Hodges Addition to reflect demolitions, new construction, and major alterations on properties that have taken place, per the specifications in the RFP document. PROJECT DESCRIPTION The City of Park Ridge was awarded a Certified Local Government Grant (CLG Grant) for an Intensive Historic Survey of L. Hodges Addition and adjacent parcels (see above map). The survey area generally follows a triangle segment of the subdivision bounded primarily by Belle Plaine Avenue, Washington Avenue, Stanley Avenue, the Union Pacific Railroad (formerly Chicago and North Western Railroad) and Courtland Avenue. L. Hodges Addition represents one of the oldest subdivisions in Park Ridge, with the subdivision occurring in 1873, the same year as the incorporation of the community into the City of Park Ridge. Leonard Hodges, the developer of the addition, sought to fulfill the early goals of the community's founders, "to develop the look of a traditional New England town, with large homes on wide lots and a profusion of trees". The addition features large lots, curving streets, and community space. It follows many of the principles of early suburban developments with a naturalistic street layout, parkland, and close public amenities. The L. Hodges Addition area consists of approximately 250 parcels. Even with many new teardowns, the neighborhood still retains much of its original charm and character. As the pace of teardowns continues to accelerate within the survey area, the time is imperative to document the historic addition. To better address the topic of preservation in this neighborhood and create a baseline for future efforts in the area, the City of Park Ridge Community Preservation and Development Department (CP&D), in coordination with the Park Ridge Historic Preservation Commission, is pursuing this grant to obtain critical information about the remaining historic character of the area. The goal of this project therefore is: Gather data from L. Hodge's subdivision and adjacent parcels to guide the Historic Preservation Commission with preservation efforts for at-risk properties in the survey area.
