The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the University. This is a full roof system tear-off and replacement (approximate area is 30,500 SF). The approved construction window is: 08/11/25 to Substantial Completion on 01/02/26. The roof contractor must work in close collaboration with the abatement contractor (separate contract) to remove and replace the roof system in sections to ensure that no more is removed than can be replaced and dried in within the same day. Both the roofing and abatement scopes of work must be performed concurrently. The abatement contractor will precede the roofing contractor to address hazardous materials removal at the roof parapets, and 4'-0" of the adjacent roof field (refer to drawings for more information). Both contractors will be responsible for careful coordination, clear communication and pro-active risk management. A comprehensive work logistics plan and schedule is required. No interior work is anticipated U.N.O.; Contractor will be required to exercise extreme care to prevent damage to the building's interior, its contents, and the interior environment. A third-party building envelope engineer will perform up to 40 site visits to ensure that the work being performed meets the scope requirements. Weekly OAC site meetings is required.
