Site work and renovation of an educational facility in Salisbury, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company has been selected by The University of Maryland, College Park Department of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing to provide full design-build services for the Salisbury University Blackwell Hall Renovation project. We invite trade subcontractors to submit prequalifications to participate in pursuing the subcontractor trade packages listed on the following page for the GMP-4 - Rebid of Exterior Site Improvements & Furnishings Bid Package. Please note that all subcontractors must be prequalified by The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in order for their bid proposal to be considered. Project Description: Major renovation and addition of the existing Blackwell Hall Library into a full-service student services center. The former library, Blackwell Hall, will be fully renovated to become a Student Services Center featuring a variety of student service departments, including the Registrar, Financial Aid, Academic Advising, Career Services, Bursar, Admissions, Counseling Center, High Impact Suite, and Disabilities Resource Center. Housing these various departments under a single roof will create a one-stop shop for student resources and serve as a new gateway to campus for current and potential students. This will provide for better service and efficiencies as well as open space in other buildings for much needed academic classroom, lab, and study space. The project will also replace the outdated mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems which are at the end of their life, as well as bring the building up to code, including a new building envelope, elevator, stairwells, and restrooms which meet ADA requirements.
