Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Keyport, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The project generally consists of the resurfacing of 0.50 miles of Second Street between Atlantic Street and Stone Road, including 8" and 12" sanitary sewer main and 8" water main and service replacements. Approximate quantities include 8,000 SY of hot mix asphalt milling, 5,000 LF of concrete curb, 1,750 SY of concrete sidewalk, 1,000 tons of hot mix asphalt surface course, 1,300 tons of hot mix asphalt base course,3,330 LF of 8" DIP water main, 2,000 LF of 8" and 12" PVC sanitary sewer, 400 LF of 15" and 18" RCP storm sewer, restoration, and associated work. The bid includes a bid alternate scope of work for the resurfacing of 0.10 miles of Waverly Street between First Street and Third Street, including curbing, sidewalks, and the replacement of 8" sanitary sewer and water mains and services within said limits. Bids must be furnished on the proposal sheets included in the Contract Documents, enclosed in a sealed envelope and addressed to the Borough Clerk, Borough of Keyport, New Jersey and plainly marked on the outside with the name and address of the bidderand the Contract Number and Title. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check of not less than ten (10%) percent of the bid payable without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the contract is awarded to the bidder, he will within ten (10) days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond. Upon failure to do so, he shall forfeit the bid security as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check. The Borough reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. The Borough reserves the right to award this contract based on funds available. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a surety company bond in the full amount of the contract price indemnifying the Borough of Keyport, New Jersey for all proceedings, suits or actions of any kind of description and conditional for the faithful performance of the work. The Borough Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids to the extent permitted by law (in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-13.2 and applicable case law). An award will be made or bids will be rejected within sixty (60) calendar days after opening, unless Mayor and Council extend the award period.
