The Macon County Solid Waste Department is receiving applications for Pre-Qualification for Contractors to construct the new Macon County MSW Landfill, Phase 3 Cell 2. The project generally consists of the construction of approximately 12.5 acres of lined landfill, including approximately 350,000 cubic yards of earthwork, composite liner system, leachate collection system, leachate pumping station and force main, modifications to the existing leachate storage lagoon, access roads, and erosion control measures. Applications must be received by 4:00 P.M. Eastern Time, on September 29, 2025 at the office of: Ms. Lori Carpenter Macon County Finance Officer Macon County Annex Building 5 West Main Street Franklin, North Carolina 28734 Only those contractors who have been pre-qualified will be allowed to submit Bid Proposals for the project. Envelopes containing the pre-qualification application must be clearly marked REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION, CONTRACTOR PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR MACON COUNTY MSW LANDFILL, PHASE 3 CELL 2. Applications not properly marked or timely received will not be considered.
