the Council Chambers on the 2n`d Floor for furnishing all labor, material, equipment and performing all work required for the following project: US HWY 64 W PEDESTRIAN CONNECTION West Main Street The project includes the construction of pedestrian sidewalks along W.Main St. starting at the entrance of the Russellville Missionary BaptistChurch to the Walgreens entrance. It also includes the construction of turn down edge sidewalk with handrails, new driveways along the path of proposed sidewalks and adjustments to parking areas impacted by the driveway construction. Lastly, minor drainage improvements to existing drainage systems will be made as well. The successful bidder will agree to complete all work described in plans and specifications within 150 calendar days of the written Notice to Proceed. Failure to complete the work within specified time limits shall subject the contractor to liquidated damages for the delay. The attention of bidders is called to the fact that Arkansas Code Annotated 17-25-101, states that a Contractor must be licensed by the State Licensing Board for Contractors before they may undertake work when the cost thereof in Arkansas is Fifty Thousand Dollars($50,000.00) or more. The City of Russellville encourages participation of small, minority, and woman owned business enterprises in the procurement of goods, services and construction, either as a general contractor or subcontractor. It is further requested that whenever possible, majority contractors who require sub-contractors seek qualified small, minority and woman owned businesses to partner with them.
