Reference Number 0000389008 Question Deadline 06/11/2025 at 4:30 PM ET Questions are submitted online Yes Bid Intent Not Available Medford Schools HVAC Upgrade for Trade Contractors The new air-to-water heat pump (AWHP), boilers, pumps, and roof top units (RTU) for this project will be controlled to optimize heating and cooling efficiency for Andrews Middle School. The AWHP shall serve the dual temperature loop. The boilers shall serve the hot water loop. Under certain conditions, the AWHP shall shut down and the boilers shall also serve the dual temperature loop. The RTUs are equipped with their own variable refrigerant flow (VRF). system for heating and cooling. Each RTU is also equipped with a hot water coil and can receive supplemental heat from the hot water loop, as needed. The RTUs are also equipped with energy recovery wheels (ERW) and have economizer capabilities. Acronyms: a. AWHP = Air to Water Heat Pump b. BAS = Building Automation System c. CHW = Chilled Water d. DT = Dual Temperature e. DT Loop = Dual Temperature secondary Loop serving UVs in classrooms f. EA = Exhaust Air g. EAT = Exhaust Air Temperature h. ERW = Energy Recovery Wheel i. HW = Hot Water j. HW Loop = Hot Water secondary Loop serving VAV HW reheat coils and RTU HW heating coils. k. MA = Mixed Air l. MAT = Mixed Air Temperature m. OA = Outside Air n. OAT = Outside Air Temperature o. RA = Return Air p. RAT = Return Air Temperature q. RTU = Roof Top Unit r. SAT = Supply Air Temperature s. VFD = Variable Frequency Drive t. VRF = Variable Refrigerant Flow
