No definite date for rebid.** PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Venice, Florida, invites qualified firms to submit proposals for the design, permitting, construction, and installation of a blast fence at Venice Municipal Airport. This initiative aims to mitigate the potential effects of jet blast on the neighboring golf course during aircraft operations on Taxiway Echo "E" and Runway 5-23. Due to site constraints, this blast fence shall be a vertical wall along the existing AOA fence. No curved blast fences are allowed. Preference is given to the aesthetics of the fence (such as a clear, see through wall). The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids/proposals in whole or in part, with or without cause, to waive any requirements, irregularities or technical defects therein, when it is deemed to be in the interest of the City. Question Deadline 06/13/2025 at 1:00 PM ET Questions must be submitted in writing to pboers@venicefl.gov, Attn: Peter Boers, Purchasing Manager Purpose- The City of Venice (City) is seeking to engage the Services of a qualified licensed Contractor to provide design, permitting, and construction services for a new blast fence for the City of Venice at Venice Municipal Airport. This Section includes the design, fabrication, erection, and certification for a complete Jet Blast Fence. The fence manufacturer shall furnish the final design, material, labor, and equipment to fabricate and erect the blast fence. At project closeout, the fence manufacturer shall furnish As-Built Drawings of the installation, Operation and Maintenance Guidelines, and a Performance Guarantee/Warranty Certificate approving the materials and installation. All civil work, including paving and foundations, and removal of the existing AOA fence is also included in this scope of work. Upon execution of Contract, the approved fence manufacturer shall submit the following: Shop Drawings to include assembly and installation drawings detailing location and overall dimensional information, materials, and finish details of the fence. Drawings shall include details of the structural frame members and major assembly/subassembly details for the fence structure, including plans, elevations, and sections. Show anchorage and accessory items. Drawings shall be stamped by a qualified Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Florida. Furnish the anchor loads and locations, as well as all miscellaneous requirements for foundation design. Provide structural design calculations for the fence structure, including structural connections, deflecting surfaces, and anchors, prepared and stamped by a qualified Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Florida. Calculations shall be submitted for each major frame system and shall comply with current IBC standards. Provide Professional Engineer Qualifications Provide a written copy of the manufacturer's guarantee or warranty certifying the workmanship, materials, installation, and performance of the fence for a period of one (1) year. As-Built Drawings: Submit as-built drawings of completed work in accordance with the requirements of the specification. Provide an operation and maintenance manual for the fence and associated components, including inspection intervals and guidelines.
