Site work for a civil project in Baraga, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Project includes the following Work: Installation of approximately 5,500 feet of open cut and 2,500 feet of directional drill water main replacement, service line replacements, miscellaneous hydrant and valve replacements, along with associated appurtenances and site restoration. Installation of water treatment plant Improvements, and all associated appurtenances. The owner will enter into a Contract to construct Village of Baraga Water System Improvements - Phase 3, as described on the accompanying Project Plans and Specifications and briefly summarized as follows. 1. Water system improvements include: a. Installation of water treatment plant improvements at existing water treatment plant and water booster station. b. Replacement of water main piping, including valves, hydrants, service lines, associated items, and restoration. Document Notes : Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Bidding documents also may be examined at Online the Village of Baraga office at 100 Hemlock Street, Baraga, MI 49908, on Monday-Friday (9:00-4:00); and U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc., 100 Portage Street, Houghton, MI 49931. Builder Exchanges are authorized to share the contract documents with other exchanges. Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by paying a deposit of $100.00 refundable deposit for each set (refundable for the first set only), plus a separate $100.00 nonrefundable handling fee for each set of contract documents. Alternatively, bidding documents are available as portable document format [PDF] files for a non-refundable charge of $50.00. Make deposit checks for Bidding Documents payable to U.P. Engineers & Architects, Inc. Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The Bid Bond or certified check payable to Owner shall be in an amount no less than 5% of the maximum bid as a guarantee, that if the Bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the Contract, Performance and Payment Bonds, and Insurance Certification, as required by the Contract Documents within (10) days after the Notice of Award. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids. INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. DOMESTIC PREFERENCE This project is subject to the Build America, Buy America Act (BABAA) requirements under Title IX of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), Pub. L. 117-58,70901-70953. Absent an approved waiver, all iron, steel, manufactured products, and construction materials used in this project must be produced in the United States. The following waivers apply to this Contract: De Minimis Minor Components GOVERNMENT FUNDING Financing for this project is being provided by the United States of America acting through Rural Development of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Rural Development will, therefore, require approval by its representatives of all Contracts, attachments, and similar documents, all partial and final payments, and all change orders. Davis Bacon wage rates are not required for this project. Question Deadline 05/28/2025 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
