The City of Wichita is seeking bids from firm(s) for the Demolition of Pawnee Prairie Park Shelter Building for the Public Works & Utilities Department. Any questions may be submitted in writing to Chris Haislett (chaislett@wichita.gov). Questions must be submitted via email, and they will be answered through an addendum made available to all interested parties. WORK TO BE DONE - Unless otherwise specified in the plans, specifications or supplemental provisions, the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supplies, utilities, services and facilities, permits, fees, required to demolish and complete the project in a satisfactory and acceptable manner in full compliance with the specifications and terms of the contract. The Contractor shall take whatever steps as may be necessary to, at all times, keep the entire site clean and free from trash, excess materials, and debris generated or caused by demolition activities. The Contractor shall take whatever steps as may be necessary to prevent and control dust and erosion of material because of demolition. The Contractor shall comply with the City of Wichita, Public Works & Utilities Department Policy regarding Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program for City Construction Projects dated November 2004. The Contractor shall backfill all disturbed areas and basements (where applicable) with excavated material mechanically compacted to a density equal to or greater than ninety-five percent (95%) of standard density. The Contractor shall also grade the whole site so as to have a continuous surface matching the adjoining areas. Approximate size of the Pawnee Prairie Park Shelter Building, 2625 S. Tyler Road, is 5,000 square feet. Drawings of the building are attached for ease of reference. The demolition contractor will be responsible for all sewer seals and associated permits and fees. Contractor will evenly spread buffalo grass seeds on all disturbed areas and water them for two weeks until fully germinated.
