Renovation of a medical facility in Jackson, Mississippi. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
The University of Mississippi Medical Center reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids. Scope: Demolish and remove from the building and the site certain items of existing construction, as indicated either on the Drawings or in the Specifications, and as required to complete the Work under the Contract. Demolition notes are not all inclusive and shall be interpreted as categories of work. Also, certain items of existing construction shall be salvaged for reuse in the finished Work. Asbestos-Containing Materials do not occur within the scope of roofing work A. Scope: Furnish labor, materials, equipment, services and supervision necessary and reasonably incidental to complete items of rough carpentry indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. B. Related work specified elsewhere (see other technical specification sections requiring wood blocking for installations): 1. Section 07 52 00 - Modified Bituminous Membrane Roofing 2. Section 07 60 00 - Flashing and Sheet Metal Scope: 1. Furnish labor, materials, equipment and supervision required for the complete removal of existing built-up roofing, rigid insulation and related existing sheet metal work, wood blocking, and bituminous flashings, except as may otherwise be indicated. Remove other existing items as noted on the Drawings. 2. Furnish labor, materials, equipment, and supervision for infilling of existing deck holes and openings where shown or described on Drawings, or where existing equipment is removed, leaving a void or hole. 3. Furnish labor, materials, equipment and supervision required to install modified bituminous roofing system where shown on Drawings, on concrete, metal, and wood decks. A. Scope: Furnish labor, materials, equipment, services and supervision as required to complete the flashing and sheet metal work indicated on the Drawings and specified herein. All sheet metal fabricators shall be ES-1 certified, as described at 1.03 hereinbelow. All sheet metal installation shall be by ES-1 certified representatives of the ES-1 fabrication shop. B. Counterflashing extensions at mechanical curbs, etc., shall be installed in conjunction with membrane roof coverings and shall be installed by the roofer, as specified in Section 07 52 00. C. Flashing flanges of sheet metal work in conjunction with membrane roof coverings shall be built into the roof covering by the roofer, as specified below. D. Painting of sheet metal work is not required unless specifically noted on Drawings. E. Related work specified elsewhere: 1. Section 07 52 00 - Modified Bituminous Membrane Roofing 2. Section 07 70 00 - Roof Specialties and Accessories 3. Section 07 92 00 - Joint Sealants A. Scope: Furnish and install miscellaneous roof specialties and related accessories as indicated on Drawings and as specified herein, to include: 1. Roof drains. 2. Refrigerant pipe and conduit supports. B. Items furnished under this Section shall be complete with all accessories as may be required for a complete, watertight and secure installation. C. Related work specified elsewhere: 1. Section 06 10 00 - Rough Carpentry. 2. Section 07 52 00 - Modified Bituminous Membrane Roofing. 3. Section 07 60 00 - Flashing and Sheet Metal. 4. Division 22 - Mechanical. A. Scope: Seal and caulk all joints where shown on Drawings, as specified herein, and elsewhere as required to close open joints and to provide a positive barrier against the passage of air or moisture, and to provide fire rated construction where required. B. Work to be sealed or caulked: 1. Exterior a. Building expansion joints. b. Joints between dissimilar materials. c. Joints associated with roofing and flashings. d. Miscellaneous open joints. C. Related work specified elsewhere: 1. Section 07 52 00 - Modified Bituminous Membrane Roofing. 2. Section 07 60 00 - Flashing and Sheet Metal. A. Scope: Furnish labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to complete the painting finishing work required by the Drawings and specified hereinafter, including, but not necessarily limited to viewexposed or weather exposed portions of: 1. Miscellaneous rooftop appurtenances noted on Drawings. 2. Miscellaneous other items and surfaces, as noted. B. Prime coats will not be required on items delivered with prime or shop coats applied as specified under other Sections, for the following: 1. Structural and miscellaneous steel. C. Unless otherwise indicated, field painting is not required for items of copper, brass, bronze, aluminum, stainless steel, chromium and aluminized steel. D. Related work specified elsewhere: Section 07900 - Sealants and Caulking. A. Furnish labor, materials, equipment and supervision as required to complete the mechanical work as shown on the Drawings and herein specified. B. The following areas of work outline the scope of work covered by this section of the Specification: 1. Cutting of building surfaces as required for installation of the work under this section. 2. Payment of all fees and permits required for the work of this section. 3. Salvage and demolition. 4. Connections to and/or modifications of existing piping and air distribution systems. 5. Removal, reinstallation and reconnection of existing equipment, piping and duct work. A. Furnish labor, materials, equipment and supervision as required to maintain existing electrical work and systems, keep in service, protect against damage, and utilize means and methods as required to protect workers, building occupants and the public from electric shock hazards. 1. Electrical damage caused by the operations of this Contract shall be repaired or replaced in a manner at least equal to its condition prior to construction. B. Work by Electrical Subcontractor: 1. The electrical subcontractor will be responsible for temporarily raising all roof-top conduit, cables, wiring, etc., to allow access and clearance for the Roofing Contractor to perform the re-roofing and related work of this Contract. All damaged existing conduit, cables, junction boxes, etc., shall be repaired by the electrical subcontractor, per the specification sections that follow. 2. Upon completion of this Contractor's re-roofing and related work, the electrical subcontractor and Contractor will work together in repositioning conduit, cables, wiring, etc., back onto the new roof, replacing existing systems indicated on Electrical Drawings. Both the subcontractor and Contractor will have personnel onsite to work together in this cooperative effort.
