The Work will be substantially performed within 3.0 months from the date of notification of award of contract or September 30, 2025, whichever is later. Contractors are advised the PROJECT shall include, but will not be limited to, the scope as outlined in the following summary. Part A: Route 41 Beachy Cove Road from Km 3+000 - Km 4+500 Road upgrading and repaving to an RLU 60 standard cross section for approximately 1.5 km of Beachy Cove Road: _ Cold planing existing asphalt to a depth of 50mm, repaving with 1 x 50mm lift of surface course asphalt, replacement of driveway and road crossing culverts, the replacement of guiderail sections and placement and compaction of granular A shouldering. Part B: Thorburn Road Km 7+320 - Km 12+020 and Thorburn Road Polymer Coated Pipe Arch 3300mm x 2080mm at Km 8+380 Road upgrading and repaving to an RLU 70 standard cross section for approximately 3.9 km of Thorburn Road Over three areas outlined below. _ Km 7+320 - Km 9+220 _ Km 9+720 - Km 10+220 _ Km 10+520 - Km 12+020 _ Cold planing existing asphalt to a depth of 50mm, repaving with 1 x 50mm lift of surface course asphalt, replacement of driveway and road crossing culverts, the replacement of guiderail sections and placement and compaction of granular A shouldering. This project also involves the replacement of a pipe arch culvert. Work will generally include, but is not limited to: _ Removal of asphaltic pavement _ Removal of guide rail _ Excavation for foundations and subgrade improvements _ Replacement of 3300mm x 2080mm pipe arch culvert complete with select backfill _ Patching of the roadway with granulars and asphaltic pavement _ Installation of hydraulic rip rap protection _ Installation of shot rock and granular stream bed repair materials _ Installation of new guide rail _ General site clean up Part C: Bennett's Road Km 1+810 - Km 3+570 Road upgrading and repaving to an RLU 60 standard cross section for approximately 1.75 km of Bennett's Road and approximately 300m of the intersection with Old Broad Cove Road _ Cold planing existing asphalt to a depth of 50mm, repaving with 1 x 50mm lift of surface course asphalt, replacement of driveway and road crossing culverts, the replacement of guiderail sections and placement and compaction of granular A shouldering. Part D: Installation of Armour Stone and Slope Stabilization Route 41 Km 0+120 This part of the project includes: _ Removal of the existing guiderail _ Installation of new Armour stone at toe of slope _ Benching and reconstruction of slope using rock fill in place _ Installation of new guiderail _ Shouldering with class A The IRI road smoothness category for all parts of this contract shall be Category B For further information, please refer to the breakdown of quantities in the tender document and the updated Department's Specifications Book.
