Demolition, site work and asbestos abatement for a municipal facility in Webster, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for site work for a municipal facility; and for asbestos abatement for a municipal facility.

**As of June 2, 2025, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The Town of Webster is seeking bids to perform demolition with Asbestos in Place and Disposal of the structure, a former 2,200 SF furniture stripping facility located at 600 Ridge Road, Webster, NY 14580. Bid Alternate 1 includes back filling and grading of site after demolition/removal of structure. Bid Alternative 1: Back Filling and Grading of Site. Site Location: Vacant and Condemned Building: 600 Ridge Road, Webster, NY 14580 Total MWBE Participation Goals: 30% Questions concerning the bid terms, conditions and technical specifications will be accepted in writing through 4:00 p.m., May 16, 2025. Requests must be transmitted via email. No Proposer may rely upon any oral responses. Such written questions and requests shall be directed to the following Town's Contact person: Mark Stein mstein@websterny.gov SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to perform the demolition work indicated herein. The Contractor shall perform the following, in connection with this contract: o Controlled demolition of the structure at: 600 Ridge Road Webster NY, 14580 o The building has been deemed structurally unsafe and has been posted not to occupy. The structure is assumed to be asbestos containing. o Removal and disposal of existing foundations, foundation walls and spread footers, if any, down to virgin soil. o Proper disposal of all debris from the controlled demolition including any and all debris within the structure. o Protection of existing adjacent structures and property. o Protection of existing trees, public sidewalks, signs, utilities and other items that are to remain as required. o Obtaining all required permits and paying all fees. o Disconnecting, capping, and sealing of existing sanitary service in accordance with the Town Sewer Department. o Backfilling and compacting of basement areas shall be done by others. o Notifying all utilities prior to demolition to disconnect services before demolition. DEMOLITION The structure has been condemned and deemed to be unsafe due to structural deficiencies. The Contractor shall be licensed to demolish an assumed asbestos containing building, apply for applicable variances and permits from the State of New York Department of Labor. The contractor shall comply with the State of New York Department of Labor Code Rule 56 (12NYCRR Part 56). o Demolition shall be conducted in a timely manner and shall be completed within 30 days of the Contractor's Notice to Proceed. o All demolished materials become the property of the Contractor, unless otherwise indicated and shall be promptly removed from the site. o The Contractor shall remove and dispose all equipment, furniture, trade or other fixtures remaining in the building. o All damage incurred in the demolition operation to structures, walks, paving, or other property to remain shall be the responsibility of the Contractor; he shall pay all costs resulting from such damage. o The demolition shall be conducted in strict accordance with all laws, ordinances and codes having jurisdiction. o The Contractor shall, before starting demolition, disconnect or cause to be disconnected, all utility services under the direction of the Town of Webster Public Works. o During demolition operations, the Contractor shall keep the work wetted down to prevent dust and dirt rising. The Contractor shall arrange to obtain water. o The contractor shall, before starting demolition, cause to be disconnected, all utilities services. The contractor shall pay all charges in connection with the utility's disconnection this includes, but not limited to, electric, gas, cable television, telephone, etc. ALTERNATE BID 1 BACKFILLING OPERATIONS (TO BE BID AS ALTERNATE 1): Upon removal of all debris, foundation walls, floors etc., on-site approved materials, soil and/or gravel backfill as approved by the Town shall be placed and compacted to finish grade. o Any and all fill used shall be clean fill only. o The final one foot (1') below finish grade shall be gravel as specified. The contractor shall furnish additional gravel material should adequate on-site approved material not be available. o Contractor shall cover entire site with a minimum 2" of approved topsoil. The site shall be seeded and mulched with an "anchored" type mulch. o Final site grading shall be as directed by the Town. o If Backfilling Operations is award as an "alternate" all other parts of this bid proposal still apply as written.
