As of June 6, 2025 project was awarded to Pridemore Construction LLC in the amount $301,243.50 The City of Paris is accepting sealed and online bids for the 7th Street SW Reconstruction Project. Each Proposal submitted shall be accompanied by an acceptable bidder's surety bond or a bid guaranty in the form of a certified check or a cashier's check made payable to the City of Paris in the amount not less than 5% of the greatest possible total amount of the Proposal submitted as a guarantee that, if awarded, the contract, the Bidder will enter into a Contract and execute all necessary bonds and provide evidence of all required insurance coverage. The successful bidder shall furnish performance and payment bonds in the amount of100% of the contract sum as well as evidence of all required insurance coverage within ten (10) calendar days of notice of award. The successful bidder shall also furnish a Maintenance Bond in the amount of 15% of the contract sum covering defects of material and workmanship for one calendar year following the City'sapproval andacceptance of the construction. An approved suretycompany, licensed in the State ofTexas, shall issue all bonds in accordance with Texas law.The Texas Insurance Code generally prohibits the inclusion of "broadform" indemnityprovisions and "additional insured" insurance coverage requirements in many typesof contracts; however, contractsrelated to a public works project of a municipalitylike this project areexcluded from this prohibition. Please note that thesuccessful bidderwill be required to provide "broad form" indemnification to theCity asspecifically allowed by Section 151.105 of the Texas Insurance Codeas thiscontract is related to a public works project of a municipality.In addition, thesuccessful bidder will be required to provide the Citywith "additional insured"coverage as allowed by Sections 151.104and 151.105 in the Texas Insurance Codeagain because this contract is related to a public works project of a municipality.Proposals are to be properly submitted online or are to be addressedto the CityClerk and shall be marked "SEALED BID -7th StreetSW Reconstruction Project BID No.ST2502" on the outside of theenvelope. The City reserves the right to reject anyand all Proposalsand to waive any or all informalities in Proposals received,deemedto be in the best interest of the City. In case of ambiguity or lackofclearness in stating prices in the Proposal, the City reserves the rightto acceptthe most advantageous construction thereof to the City orto reject the Proposal. Noofficer or employee of the City of Paris shallhave a financial interest, direct orindirect, in any contract with theCity of Paris. No Proposal may be withdrawn untilafter the expirationof 90 calendar days from the date Proposals are opened.The City of Paris cannot guarantee that any Proposals sent prioritymail will bepicked up from the post office by City employees anddelivered to the City Clerk'soffice by 2:00 p.m. on June 2, 2025.
