Renovation of a laboratory facility in Manhattan, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a laboratory facility.
A. Project Title: Access Walkways for the Chiller Cooling Towers for Manhattan, KS -NBAF B. Competition is set aside for Total Small Business. Applicable NAICS code is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. C. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204 the magnitude of this construction project is between $250,000 and $500,000. D. Prospective offerors shall complete block 14, 15 and 19. E. Prospective offerors shall be registered with Systems for Awards Management (SAM) with an active registration *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The objective of this project is to enhance safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency by Installing access walkways around the chiller cooling towers for improved access during maintenance and inspections. This work will be at the Central Utility Plant (CUP) on the NBAF Campus. Background The National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) is the nations first integrated Agricultural and Zoonotic Disease, research, diagnostics, training, and evaluation (RDT&E) facility with the capability to address threats from High-Consequence Zoonotic Disease agents and Foreign Animal Disease (FAD) agents. As a result, the facility is designed to contain BSL-2 through BSL-4 research studies. Due to the nature of this facility, NBAF is seeking a company with extensive knowledge and expertise providing upgrades to the NBAF Marley cooling towers. Contractors associated with this work of the facility should fully understand the construction types and repair methods associated with these facilities. The areas requiring work are in a non-containable portion of the facility, on the NBAF campus at 1980 Denison Ave. Manhattan, KS.
