The Board of Education of Allegany County is issuing this solicitation for the construction of a security vestibule at Bel Air Elementary School, located at 14401 Barton Boulevard, Cumberland, MD. The goal of this contract is to enhance the security measures at the school, aligning with the agency's mission to provide a safe learning environment for students. The contractor will be responsible for the construction of a security vestibule at Bel Air Elementary School. This includes following the plans and specifications prepared by Bushey Feight Morin Architects Inc. The work must comply with all relevant building codes and safety regulations. The contractor is required to submit sealed proposals in accordance with the provided instructions and standard forms. Upon award, the successful contractor must utilize electronic documents for printing additional sets required for construction. The contract work is expected to commence upon receipt of the Notice to Proceed and must be completed by August 15, 2025. This timeframe includes final clean-up and obtaining necessary permits. Bidders must submit a Surety Bond or Certified Check amounting to 5% of the total work value. A performance bond and payment bond are also required in accordance with AIA Document A701 2018 Article 7, amounting to 100% of the total work value.
